Sound Radix releases Auto-Align 2.2 and Auto-Align Post 2.2 with Pro Tools ARA Support

We’re thrilled to announce our latest release: Auto-Align 2.2 and Auto-Align Post 2.2!

These new versions bring advanced features and significant enhancements, including extended ARA2 integration in Pro Tools for a faster, zero-latency, capture-free workflow.

Both available in the downloads area:

  • For ARA2 support under Pro Tools, make sure you have installer Pro Tools 2024.6 or newer.

LATE BREAKING ISSUE:
We had several reports of Auto-Align and Auto-Align Post 2.2 not showing up under PT2024.6

If you’ve encountered such an issue or willing to help us finding the issue it’ll be great if you could contact our support with the following information:

  • Pro Tools version BEFORE upgrading to 2024.6.
  • AA/AAP version BEFORE trying to upgrade.
  • Model (MBP 16" M1, Mac Pro Intel 2019, etc)
  • Apple silicon only - Are you using PT under Rosetta?
  • Recent Pro Tools Logs from /Users/<user>/Library/Logs/Avid
  • Any cache file of AutoAlign2 or AutoAlignPost - /Users/Shared/Pro Tools/AAXPlugInCache

We’ll greatly appreciate this in order to find a proper fix ASAP.

In the meantime,
We have a workaround that seems to enforce PT caching to trigger -

Awesome!
On it:)

Great news!

I have Pro Tools 2024.6 and Auto Align Post 2.2, but the Auto Align Post tab isn’t clickable at the bottom of the edit window. How do I enable it?

Thank you!

Thanks @geraldtrepy,

Here’s how to use Auto-Align Post 2.2 ARA in Pro Tools:

  1. Select all the tracks you’d like to align by clicking on the track’s names in the Edit Window.

  2. Hold ‘Option’ (mac) / ‘Alt’ (Windows) + ‘Shift’, click on the Elastic Audio Properties menu of any of the selected tracks, and select Auto-Align Post 2.

  3. Click ‘Align’.

  4. You can use the master on/off switch to hear the before/after of all the aligned tracks.

If you still have any issues, feel free to contact us at support@soundradix.com.

Thanks,

Oran

Awesome! Thank you so much Oran! It’s opening. It looks like it’s opening up whole new possibilities. I’m going to play around with it

Not working on Silicon either. I updated to PT 2024.6. AAP ARA wasn’t showing up so I updated to AAP2.2. Now AAP not showing up anywhere! No Audio Suite. Reinstalled 2.1.2. Back to normal but still no ARA, obviously. What a letdown! I’m sure you’ll sort it in due course.

Hi @dm1 ,
I’m sorry you’re one of the unlucky who were hit by this issue.

We’ve updated this thread’s main topic with (long :frowning: , yet… one timer) workaround.

Still, we’ll greatly appreciate if anyone encountring the issue could first help us and provide details so we’ll be able to make a proper fix as soon as we get a better understanding of why this is happening.

I’ll be updating another identical suite within the next week so I’ll keep detailed notes of the process, as per your post.

Workaround doesn’t work. Sonoma 14.5/M1 Mac. Downgraded PT and installed 2.1.2. Auto Align Post 2 plugin is still gone even with 2023.12.
EDIT: It did work. AAP2 didn’t show in 2023.12 when I was in step 3. After I tried to install 2.2, it came back. Then I installed PT 2024.6 and it’s also there.

I found a spare hour where I was able to follow the workaround and that worked, thank you. Bit of a pain but good to have the functionality.

Got it working but don’t really understand how it operates. Following Oran’s instructions above:

  1. Select all the tracks you’d like to align by clicking on the track’s names in the Edit Window.
    DONE.
  2. Hold ‘Option’ (mac) / ‘Alt’ (Windows) + ‘Shift’, click on the Elastic Audio Properties menu of any of the selected tracks, and select Auto-Align Post 2.
Why do we need this key combination? It seems to have just the same result (po-up menu) as a simple mouse-click. Also, it comes up as ‘Auto-Align Post’ - no ‘2’
  3. Click ‘Align’.
    Where is this button?
  4. You can use the master on/off switch to hear the before/after of all the aligned tracks.

I suspect Oran’s guidelines are for Auto-Align 2 , yep confusing as one mostly targets musical performance while the other is aimed at post-production.

So with Auto-Align Post ,

  • You add it as ARA on the relevant tracks needed alignment (including the ones to be used as reference to alignment).

  • In the AAP view, select the clips you’d like to align.

  • Click the blinking “SET REF” on the tracks header to the left of the track that those clips should be references (aligned) to.

  • Further tweaking can be done by selecting relevant clips and switching the alignment modes (static/dynamic, spectral/polarity).

  • Once session is ready towards next stage in production (meaning no more edits/conforms/updates are heading your way), from the Elastic Audio dropdown, set the selection to None (remove the ARA), and choose “Commit” to print it.

Perfect, Tal, thank you! I did wonder why I had to align whole tracks! You might want to get his post changed as it clearly says the instructions are for Auto Align Post. I’ve submitted feedback on the relevant page.

Hi @dm1

Sorry about that, I edited the article with the correct instructions for Auto-Align Post.
Thanks for letting us know.

Damn, I seem to be one of the unlucky people that can’t access Auto Align 2 in ARA2 in Pro Tools Rosetta 2024.6. Shows up as a plugin, but not in ARA2. I’m not super comfortable downgrading and the upgrading PT at the moment with projects on deck. But I emailed support with the requested info.

I had to delte the .aax component and then trash prefs and then AAP2 showed up in the cache files. Had nothing at all on M3 Max until then
