Pi - stops VI output - normal?

Hello again. I have noticed, in Protools, that once you put an instance of Pi in the last insert of the track - it stops the output of the VI in the same track. So, you can only really use it once you have completely finished tracking and ready for the mix or master. So, if I want to use Pi as I pull the track together (kind of mixing as I go) I will need to change my workflow - as I often rerecord midi tracks on the fly. The MIDI still triggers in both the track and the VI itself - but there is no sound from the instrument. Is this normal? Again - sorry if it is a stupid question. Thanks.

Hi @tonylowther1,

Thanks for your message. Sorry to hear about this issue.

You should be able to use Pi on your Instrument Tracks in Pro Tools.

If you insert Pi and it mutes the Instrument Track, try increasing Pi’s Global Lookahead Buffers which is available by clicking the cog wheel icon.

If you still have any issues, please send us an email to support@soundradix.com and we’ll take it from there, please specify which VIs you’re having this issue with.

Best,

Oran
