I’m not getting handles when committing alignment (clip nor track) render nor commit. Changing handle length setting does not change the behavior. Zero handles on the rendered/committed clips. Plenty of material beyond the clips (ref and target) in the audio files prior to rendering/committing. What am I doing wrong? Or is this correct behavior? AA2P 2.3.2, PT2025.6.0, MBP 14.7.3
Hi Brent,
Thanks for your message.
Are you using Auto-Align Post ARA?
In Pro Tools, ARA Handles are linked to the AudioSuite Handles Length setting.
To change this setting, go to Steup –> Preferences → Processing tab and set the desired Handles length.
Next, in AAP, go to Edit → Handles Length and make a selection.
Now, you should have handles when commiting or rendering.
If you still have any issues, please send us an email to support@soundradix.com and we’ll take it from there.
Thanks,
Oran
OK, thanks for that info… this is my first foray into ARA land. So, having followed your instructions, it seems the ARA handles setting is really just “on” or “off”… the length I choose has no impact, including ‘none.’ It’s always whatever the default handle setting in PT preferences is. Am I seeing that right?
Also, the audio in the handles, when the reference clip has the same visible length as the target clip, is still not aligned dynamically, as has been the case with the nature of PT’s Audiosuite limitations. This is fine for static subjects, like a drum head, but actors and boom mics can’t hold still. I was hoping ARA would overcome that.
Thanks for the help!
Hi Brent,
Thanks for your reply.
The actual length of the Handle is set in the Steup –> Preferences → Processing tab.
Ideally, you should use the same value you selected in AAP Handles Length preference.
You can choose between 1, 2, 5, 10, or 30 seconds.
The AAP Handles Length preference is how much audio within the handle AAP aligns.
Also with ARA, AAP can’t use any audio that isn’t visible in the Reference track.
The audio has to be ‘seen’ for AAP to use it as a reference.
If you have any questions, let me know.
Best,
Oran
