Reduce Cymbals in Drum Loop

Hi,

We are trying out Drum Leveller to see if it can help reduce the level of cymbals and crashes in drum loops.
So far not had much luck. Is this something Drum Leveller can do and leave the snare and kick un affected?
If so what’s is the best way to do this?

Although Drum Leveler is a smart dynamics processor rather than a source separator device, it can help reduce level of cymbals between the kick and snare. Start by setting the Low Threshold as high as possible until only the kick and snare hits cross the Low Threshold. Then use the GATE to reduce the sound between the beats. Engage the Side-Chain filter to filter out the cymbals while preserving the kick and snare to reduce Drum Leveler’s sensitivity to the cymbals.
