Dynamic Phase Correction problems with noisy scene

Hey there! Sorry if someone has already experienced this issue and if there is an existing topic already, please point me to it. That said, I hit a scene where during the auto-align process, the dynamic phase correction seems to be confused, maybe because the broadband noise at the location is so prominent? Essentially, it seems like the plug is only phase correcting around the vocals(maybe the point of “Dynamic”) but the result is dramatic, audible dips in the noise when the two mics(Boom+Lav) are played together…

It’s way more noticeable when heard than seen in the attached screenshot, anyway, wondering if anyone else has run into this problem?

Hi @ewoklake,

If you’re using Pro Tools, please try setting the handles length to zero and see if that helps.
Also, perhaps using the Static and Polarity modes will yield better results for this scene.

It would be great if you could send us a project where we can look into this issue and hopfully improve Auto-Align Post in such scenarios.

Thanks,
Oran

Thanks Oran, How can I send a copy of the audio to you? Switching to static like you suggested helped with it for sure. Was the only time I’ve ever encountered an issue like this with dynamic though.

You’re welcome. Happy to hear there is some improvement.

An email/WeTransfer to support@soudradix.com would be great.

Thanks.
