SurferEQ Sidechain MIDI Not Working

I’m trying out the midi SC in SurferEQ but it’s not working for me. Does Anyone know how to get it to work in Ableton? I have a midi channel triggering notes and I want Surfer to react to the midi through SC but it’s not working. I’ve tried in FL Studio, Ableton, and Logic.

Below is a screenshot from Ableton. I’ve tried both Note Overrides…, and Surf by Note settings. And I also have the Surf turned on which I didn’t show in the screenshot.

macOS Sonoma 14.2.1

Hi @arnodhis,

Thanks for your message.

To use MIDI input in Ableton, set the output (MIDI to) of a MIDI track to the track you’d like to surf,
enable Surf mode on one or more bands, make sure MIDI input is On and you’re good to go.

You don’t need to enable “SIDE CHAIN” in SurferEQ’s UI - this button allows using a different audio track as a side chain source.

If you have any questions, feel free to send us a message to [email protected].

Thanks,

Oran

Perfect. Thanks.
